The Second Past (secondpast.com) is an AI-powered historical survival game operated by Gama Alternative Management SRL, a company incorporated in Romania. By accessing or using the service you agree to these terms.
Credits are the in-game currency used to take actions. Credits are purchased as one-time payments through Stripe, Inc. Prices are shown in USD. Applicable taxes (including VAT for EU customers) are calculated and collected automatically at checkout.
Unused credits do not expire. Prices may change; existing purchased credits are unaffected by price changes. We do not store your card details — all payment data is handled by Stripe.
Credits are a digital good delivered immediately upon purchase. Once credits have been consumed in gameplay they are non-refundable.
If you are an EU consumer, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a digital purchase within 14 days, unless you have consented to immediate delivery and acknowledged that the right of withdrawal is lost once the digital content has been accessed or consumed. By completing a purchase you provide this consent and acknowledgement.
For unused credits, refund requests within 14 days of purchase may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at privacy@secondpast.com.
Account creation and authentication is handled by Clerk. You are responsible for keeping your account secure. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that abuse the service (e.g. credit farming, automated play at scale, or harassment).
Your in-game actions and run history are stored on our servers to power gameplay and leaderboards. Death cards and share pages are public by default. By playing you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display this content on the platform.
Social credit submissions (TikTok/Twitter posts) remain your content; we may feature them in promotional materials with credit to your handle.
All narrative, images, and game events are generated by AI (Anthropic Claude and OpenAI DALL-E). They are fictional and for entertainment only. We make no guarantees about historical accuracy.
We aim for high uptime but provide no SLA. The service may be interrupted for maintenance or updated without notice. We are not liable for lost gameplay sessions.

The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Gama Alternative Management SRL is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.
These terms are governed by Romanian law. EU consumers retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection provisions of their country of residence.
We may update these terms. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be noted on this page.
